HABITAT FOR HUMANITY
First Step Activity - Build a Playhouse
Our Playhouse Program provides an enjoyable volunteer experience while
generating revenue for the construction of Habitat EB/SV homes. Through
the program, volunteers fully construct a useable and durable playhouse
by fabricating the sides, door, windows, and trim, constructing the
roof, and painting the structure.
Next Step Activity - Build a Home
Our Home Construction Team Building Program, your youth have the
opportunity to build new homes, and renovate and repair existing homes
in your community. Our skilled staff will provide all the training,
tools, and materials you will need. We do not require any previous
building experience! Build days last from 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. We ask that
your team commits to the full day to provide the most meaningful and

First Step Activity - Create Artwork for Exhibit
Artists will create multimedia art to be part of a special exhibit at a community event in July at the School of Arts and Culture at Mexican Heritage Plaza. Guest speakers will teach participants how to oversee artists to make sure deadlines are met, create displays and organize artwork for exhibit with a schematic diagram so it can be replicated at MHP.
Next Step Activity - Curate Exhibit & Marketing
Next Step participants will conceptualize the exhibit, decide on a theme, write up a description and call to artists. The will work on marketing the event through social media and reaching out to reporters for publicity. The exhibit that was created by First Step participants will create the onsite installation for public viewing.

First Step Activity - Guest Speaker & Activity
Participants will have a speaker come in to talk about the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and Team in Training. Students will physically train everyday to participate in a virtual marathon and help Next Step participants raise money by starting a letter writing campaign.

Participants will have a speaker come in to talk about the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and Team in Training. TNT will connect the team with an honored patient so they have a personal motivation for participating. The TNT team will physically train everyday to participate in actual marathon together.
